At a glance-

First of all, project offices were set up at the upazila level for the management of secondary education through 4 stipend projects from 1993 onwards. Later this upazila project office and its manpower was transferred to the revenue sector. Since then this department has been renamed as Upazila Secondary Education Office. All the upazilas of Bangladesh have one upazila secondary education office. Currently, secondary education offices have been set up and manpower has been recruited under the Secondary Education Sector Investment Program in the four largest metros.

Activities:

Distribution of stipends, distribution of books, preservation and development of quality of education, academic and administrative supervision and inspection, teacher training, information updating, teacher / staff recruitment, various surveys / censuses, investigations, use of technology in education, various examination related, co-curricular activities, Eve teasing. Apart from that, the responsibilities imposed by different authorities at different times have to be performed smoothly.
